Socialization/training: Dove came to us after a partner organization in Ohio, intercepted him and 70 other dogs from an amish puppy mill. Despite being blind and deaf, she radiates resilience and confidence. Readily accepts other dogs and people. Dove does well with having her hair brushed and nails trimmed. This is a dog who will require regular grooming every 8-10 weeks. Dove is very accepting of attention. She loves to be petted or have her belly rubbed. She has the cutest tail that curls up and lays flat on her back.
Crate trained: Still a work in progress. Dove is currently crated for 8 hours per day, and does well in her crate. Will gladly take peanut butter Kong persuasions.
Leash trained: In-progress
Activity Level: Dove is a busy girl. She likes to play with toys and her fur-friends. She is good at self-entertaining. Once she’s had a good play, she’s ready to take a rest, and can fall asleep anywhere.
Fence: Recommended
Behavior: Outgoing and independent. She adjusts quickly to new environments.
Medical History: Deaf and Blind-very limited vision, can recognize light and dark and may see shadows. But for all intents and purposes, is blind and deaf.
