Name: Dumplin
Gender: Female
Age: 1.5 years
Breed: Catahoula mix
Weight: 50lbs
Disability: deaf and blind in one eye
Dogs: yes
Cats: yes
Kids: yes
Socialization/training: She's a quick learner, but can be a bit intimidated at first. If someone is in the distance that she can see but not smell yet, she will alert you by barking. But is perfectly fine once meeting them, may be aloof at first though till she gets to know you more. She's been good with other animals. She's very sweet and curious with kitties, loves to also play with other dogs. She's good on leash/collar but does pull some. She is a good car rider as well. Dumplin has not been taught any formal commands yet and will do best with a combination of touch and hand signals. Dumplin is totally deaf and has had her right eye removed due to severe microphthalmia. Dumplin will need to be fed her meals in her crate. She is house trained.
Crate trained: Yes she is good in a crate. She is currently crated when her foster mom is away but could also likely be trusted confined to a small dog proofed room.
Fence: Dumplin is respectful of fences and does not try to escape or dig out of them. A home with a fence or someone willing to take her for leash walks would be ideal.
Personality/behavior: Dumplin is very excited to have her people near, especially if they've been gone any amount of time. She's goofy, happy, and excited once she knows her human. She's opened up to new people quickly here but can be standoffish a few minutes. Loves to cuddle. She's a good mix of independent and stuck up your butt. She adjusts easily, figures out her area quickly, and is good with other animals. Her biggest down fall is her getting too excited and jumping, but she's a puppy still who hasn’t had much of any one on one training.
Adoption fee: $150
