Socialization/training: Pisces knows hand signals for sit, down, come, place, in and has been working on mastering roll over and going through an agility tunnel. This girl loves to work for hotdogs and would likely make a good rally dog or agility dog. She really loves water too so might even be a good dock diving dog in the right hands. She has no problem sharing the same water bowl as other dogs and likes to play tug-o-war, wrestle, and chase with other dogs too. She has a very submissive play style and doesn’t get bent out of shape by other dogs. She tends to pester little dogs to play but has been around all sizes just fine. She has also met kiddos as young as 6 years old and has been very respectful. Pisces loves people. Sometimes she may alarm “boof and woof” at someone new for a few minutes but it doesn’t last long. She does fantastic at the vets office and actually spent most of her physical exam on her back getting belly rubs from the vet. Pisces is great for car rides, nail trims, and baths. She loves to play with toys, learn new tricks and commands, and play with other dogs. She currently resides with 3 other cats and is learning the ropes of cats too!
Crate trained: Yes! Pisces is now considered crate trained. Due to her age, we would not consider her trustworthy to be left alone uncrated while people are gone.
Leash trained: Pisces does pretty well on a leash for a dog of her age. She’s not a puller but she definitely loves to take time to sniff. She doesn’t seem to chase cars or squirrels. Overall very manageable on leash. Does best on a prong of front clip no pull harness.
Activity Level: Pisces has a moderate amount of energy. She is still a pup after all, but she does enjoy entertaining herself with toys and will happily lay at your feet while you work in the kitchen. She prefers a good balance of physical and mental enrichment.
Fence: A fence is not required to adopt Pisces. She would be fine with long leash walks, hiking, and would likely make a good candidate for invisible/perimeter fencing. She currently has a 5ft chain link fence where she is fostered and is respectful of the fencing. She prefers to go out and do her business and then come right back inside, unless she has another dog to hang out with outside.
