Socialization/training: Peregrine came to us after a partner organziation in Ohio, intercepted him and 70 other dogs from an amish puppy mill. Does normal puppy things. Does want to chew on things but can be re-directed with a treat, toy or removing from location. Has interacted with dogs from 10 pounds-50pounds and done well. Can become scared if being chased by a dog or person.
Crate trained: In-Progress, requires a heart-beat stuffed puppy, takes 15 mins to settle down, crated for 8 hours a day
Leash trained: In-Progress
Activity Level: Playing with toys and other dogs is enough for them to burn off energy daily. Learning to do food-puzzles.
Fence: Recommended, but not required.
Behavior: Initially shy, may take a couple of days to become comfortable with new people and a new environment. Very sweet and affectionate. Likes to be held and in the same room with
people and other dogs. Sleeps in bed with his foster mom or on doggie bed with another dog. Loves to play with other dogs. Likes small stuffed toys and chew on toys. Likes soft treats and
canned food. Does well for grooming with brush and clippers.
Foster Comments: Peregrine is so sweet, and I can’t help but constantly pick him up to cuddle and give kisses. I often find him sleeping on top of my springer spaniel. Peregrine is looking for
a home with either a family with older children as he does become afraid if chased and will scream. He would be ok as an only dog if he is adopted by someone who works from home or is
retired. Otherwise, a furry companion would be needed to provide him comfort when he is left alone.
Foster Location: Columbus, Ohio
Adoption fee: $300
