Name: Violet
Gender: Female
Age: 16 weeks
Breed: Border Collie/Australian Shepherd
Weight: ~30-45lbs fully grown
Disability: deaf and blind (can see light and shadows)
Dogs: yes
Cats: yes
Kids: yes
Socialization/training: Violet is a very social and sweet puppy! She really enjoys playing with her
foster siblings and exploring the yard. She is still working on potty training, but is very food
motivated. She adapted to her foster home very quickly and has mastered going up steps (still
working on going down!). She uses her nose and light/shadows to follow (and find!) her foster
family.
Crate trained: Violet is crated during the day while her foster is at work. She is usually crated for
about 2-4 hours. She sometimes whimpers a little, but goes in willingly and quickly settles. She
also sleeps in the crate at night, but will happily nap/sleep with her people and fur-siblings as
well!
Leash trained: Voilet is doing well on the leash!
Activity Level: Violet has typical bursts of “puppy energy” and would benefit from a fur sibling (or
two!) to run around with and show her the ropes. While she loves to play, and is a typical happy
puppy, she has a very calm demeaner. She loves sitting at the door, feeling the breeze in her
face.
Fence: A fence would be helpful as she loves to explore, but not a requirement if the adopter is
committed to exercise.
Behavior: Violet is so sweet and curious. She loves to play, snuggle, and will happily be carried
around. She doesn’t make a lot of noise (will whimper in the crate when she needs to use the
bathroom) and loves to be petted! She gets along with her foster siblings and human siblings
and is always wagging her tail! She enjoys playing with bones and toys, as well as chasing
tennis balls around.
Medical History: Violet is both deaf and blind. Her foster thinks she can see some light/shadows.
Foster Comments: Violet would enjoy a home where she has lots of interaction from her
humans/fur siblings. Since she is blind/deaf, she relies and thrives on touch. A family who is
home frequently would be beneficial to her success. She would love to go on adventures with
her family as well!
