Whisper gets along with…..
Dogs- Yes. Whisper loves to play with all other dogs that will let him! He does very well with
boundaries set by other dogs.
Cats- Yes. He likes to chase cats but never catches them & never tries to use his mouth at all.
He's just in it for the chase. He also understands that if a cat bops him, that means back off and
he does so accordingly.
Children- Yes. Whisper loves all people big & small!
Socialization/training: Whisper knows basic commands such as the signal for "Sit" and "Stay". He
also understands body language pretty well. Whisper doesn't know a stranger! If you are near,
he wants all your love and attention. Whisper has done very well with boundaries and is learning
quickly what he can do. He does follow the lead of the other dogs in the house. I believe
that is how he learns what is good and bad so quickly.
Crate trained: Whisper is crate trained. He is house trained and crated during the night. He does
not have any accidents in his crate or in the house. When it is time for bed, he might whine for a
minute or two but settles rather quickly. Whisper has some separation anxiety so being in a
crate when his humans are away from the house would be the best as he sees it as a safe
place for him.
Leash trained: Whisper does great on a leash! He does need some correction at times but
corrects well. His sight is not 100% so he likes to stay near his person and does not see other
animals such as squirrels, birds, or other dogs until they are right next to him. He would also
benefit from sun goggles when he is outside in bright light.
Activity Level: He has a typical Aussie activity level. He will need someone to play with him daily
to burn energy. He will be satisfied with either human play or playing with other dogs. He settles
inside the house and loves to be next to his humans. He is very much a Velcro dog. Whisper prefers
human contact, cuddles or playtime with his fur siblings over toys. but he will carry a soft
toy around the house sometimes or enjoy a game of tug of war.
Fence: Currently uses a 6ft privacy fence and has not tried to climb or dig. Privacy fence is not
required, leash walking at least 3 times a day would be sufficient. I have confidence that he
would even do well with an invisible fence.
Behavior: Very affectionate. Very attached to the hip. Loves cuddles, attention, and any affection.
He wants to make sure everyone in the house is safe and likes to check on everyone
periodically.
Foster Comments: Whisper is such a sweet dog! He just wants to be loved and wants to make
sure his people know how much he loves and appreciates them. ❤
Since Whisper is such a velcro dog, he will need an adopter that understands his needs or
someone with a lot of patience willing to train him to be more independent and confident.
